Britisches Fußball-Erleben, zusammengefasst im Match of the month-Bericht von einem Spiel beim englischen Viertligsten Morecambe: “Covered terraces at both ends. The pre-match ritual of draping a club scarf over the statue of Eric Morecambe on the seafront. The best pies in the Football League are sold at half time.” Stehplatztribünen, traditionelle Vereinsrituale und die Geschmäcker scheidendes Essen. Pies kann man mögen, muss man aber nicht.
Artikel im Heft portraitieren u.a. Holy Trinity, Profiverein von 1896 bis 1912, oder beschäfigen sich mit dem Ritual des Wimpeltauschs der Kapitäne vor Spielbeginn. “Cruyff had turned Dutch football from nothing to something; in Spain, he transformed the game from one thing to another, which is harder. It's easy to forget what Spanish football was like when Cruyff arrived there: rugged, glowering, hysterically violent.” schreibt Taylor Pares in seinem Nachruf auf Johan Cruyff.
Im Editorial wird der Fokus auf die immer häufigeren Trainerwechsel gerichtet. Sie hätten dabei immer weniger Effekt, da sie keine Zeit bekämen. “The average length of a manager's job declined steadily throughout the post-war era but has slumped dramatically in recent times. It was around two years at the start of this century and is now a little over nine months, just about one whole season.”
