Das Stadion des St. Johnstone FC im schottischen Perth wurde 1989 bereits vor Veröffentlichung des Taylor-Reports als reines Sitzplatzstadion errichtet. Ein kurzer Artikel blickt darauf zurück. “In the same month that the report was published, August 1989, St Johnstone opened McDiarmid Park, Britain’s first purpose-built allseat stadium, with a capacity of 10,696. Other clubs claim the title of being the first all-seat ground but their efforts were wooden benches crudely hammered onto terracing. McDiarmid Park is the stadium that every other club has followed; Lord Taylor even came to inspect it as part of his report.”

Aufsehenerregende Artikel in Heft 394 hatten sich mit der Frage des drohenden Verlusts von Objekten der britischen Fußballgeschichte durch die Zeitläufte beschäftigt, wie dem Aussterbens von Traditionen wie den Matchprogrammen einerseits aber auch der Sammler selbst. Dies löste eine riesige Welle an Reaktionen aus. “The issue struck a nerve, to judge by the 229 responses received. This is an important and emotional subject, certainly for owners, and some collections are at risk of destruction. A third of collectors aged 55 and over thought their stuff would be chucked after their death.”
